Using seasonal genomic changes to understand historical adaptation to new environments: Parallel selection on stickleback in highly?variable estuaries

چکیده
Parallel evolution is considered strong evidence for natural selection. However, few studies have investigated the process of parallel selection as it plays out in real time. The common approach to study historical signatures populations already well adapted different environments. Here, document under conditions, we six threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) inhabiting bar-built estuaries that undergo seasonal cycles environmental changes. Estuaries are periodically isolated from ocean due sandbar formation during dry summer months, with concurrent shifts resemble long-term changes associated postglacial colonization freshwater habitats by marine populations. We used pooled whole-genome sequencing track allele frequency these and search found consistent across estuaries, suggesting a potential role Functional enrichment among candidate genes included transmembrane ion transport calcium binding, which important osmoregulation balance. genomic occur could provide glimpse into early stages adaptation occurred many transitions.

Using Genomic Information to Understand Leishmania Biology
The genomes of different species of Leishmania have been deciphered in recent years. We learned that the genome content and organization of Leishmania major, Leishmania braziliensis and Leishmania infantum are highly similar and annotation of these genomes revealed that there are few species-specific genes. Association of genome information with reverse and forward genetics approaches allows po...

abstract type-ii fuzzy logic has shown its superiority over traditional fuzzy logic when dealing with uncertainty. type-ii fuzzy logic controllers are however newer and more promising approaches that have been recently applied to various fields due to their significant contribution especially when the noise (as an important instance of uncertainty) emerges. during the design of type- i fuz...

Software engineering courses are expected to teach students a wide range of knowledge and skills, e.g. software-development methodologies, tools, work habits, collaboration skills, a good sense of scheduling, etc. In this paper, we present a method to track the progress of students developing a term project, using the historical information stored in their CVS repository. This information is an...
متن کاملUsing Argumentation to Understand Ambiguous Situations in Intelligent Environments
Intelligent Environments provide the infrastructure to deliver Ambient Assisted Living such that elderly people can remain at home and independent for longer. An important part of an Ambient Assisted Living provision is the monitoring, detection and follow up of unsafe situations. One problem these systems have to perform that task is that they only observe the world through incomplete, sometim...
